Mylonas Phivos

Dr. Phivos-Apostolos Mylonas was born in Athens in 1978. He received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2001, the Master of Science (M. Sc.) in Advanced Information Systems from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UoA) in 2003, while he was awarded a Doctor of Engineering (Ph.D.) with the “Excellent” degree from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2008. Currently, he has been elected Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics and Computer Engineering of the University of West Attica, while he collaborates as an Senior Researcher with the Humanistic and Social Informatics Laboratory of the Ionian University and the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems, Content and Interaction of the NTUA, where he conducts research in the area of semantic analysis of images and videos and coordinates research and development activities in Greek and European projects. His research interests include, among others, dealing with multimedia information retrieval, knowledge-assisted multimedia content analysis, issues related to multimedia content personalization, user adaptation, user modeling and profiling, context representation and analysis, and human-computer interaction.
